I am an established animal and pet portrait artist, painting animals of all varieties for the past 15 years.

I live in the Staffordshire Moorlands area with my three year old black and white Springer Spaniel named Ben, close to the Biddulph Grange Gardens and the Cheshire border. It is a beautiful area that is both wooded and rugged. There are all types of animal, both wild and domesticated. I feel that it is a privilege to live where I do.

Since early life I had been interested in drawing and painting.  I also had a keen interest in animals, having been surrounded by them most of my life.  Initially my interest had been in watercolour and pastel landscapes.  That was until attending a horse show in 1992 and seeing a display of horses painted in pastel.  As a result of this I painted one of our own horses in pastel.  The outcome of this painting inspired me to paint each of our pets and I would display the paintings that I had done at horse shows we were attending.

I hadn’t realized until that time that the only subject matter that really meant anything to me was that of animals.  I haven’t looked back since. I have the ability to read the character of your pet, by the sparkle in its eye to its demeanor, from a good photograph. I am able to see the texture, colour and different hues of colour within the coat that makes it unique to your particular pet.

I have the ability to bring all these qualities together to produce an accurate portrait of your pet which you will treasure forever.
